Understanding Firestorms

Australia experienced almost as many firestorms during the 2019/2020 Black Summer season than it did in the previous 30 years. But how does a fire become a firestorm? UNSW Canberra bushfire researchers hope that discovering the answer will ensure that we don’t see a repeat of this devastating bushfire season. Learn more on:

Human Factors & the Technological Interface

The increasing reliance on technological innovations – from digital commuting to smart infrastructure – is changing the nature of human-technology relationships. These changes are having a major impact on the nature of human behaviour and the ways in which we understand, predict, and transform collective and individual human action.

This new course, offered to postgraduate master's students, looks at a series of technological interface scenarios to better understand the role technology is playing in reshaping the context of human behaviour.
